چکیده

Abstract: Apartment houses have been continuously constructed in Korea to solve overcrowding in large cities. The interlayer noise arising from these apartment houses has now become a critical social problem which requires an urgent solution. In recent years, studies applying numerical analysis techniques with respect to the structural type and floor plane have been carried out to effectively reduce the heavy weight impact noise, which is a cause for the interlayer noise. This study proposes analytical impact force models based on the actual measurement data regarding the heavy weight impact noise, which is mandatory input data for performing a numerical analysis. Additionally, the appropriateness of the proposed models has been verified through a comparative review with Korean standards. With the use of the proposed model, a numerical analysis has been conducted using a wall-type specimen, and a comparative analysis has been also performed with respect to the field measurement data. The applicability of the proposed model to the numerical analysis shows the possibility to resolve the interlayer noise problems numerically posing difficulties due to both the limited costs and time. Finally, it is expected that more information can be provided to resolve the interlayer noise problem based on the numerical analysis of various boundary conditions.

Assessment of Timber Floor Vibration Performance: a Case Study in Italy

Vibrations induced by people walking is one of the most important issue in timber floor design. Low natural frequency and low mass require a careful analysis in order to prevent significant annoyance and to guarantee an acceptable human comfort. This paper is concerned with the assessment of vibration performance of a timber-concrete composite timber floor and a cross laminated timber floor use...

Analytical Prediction of Indentation and Low-Velocity Impact Responses of Fully Backed Composite Sandwich Plates

In this paper, static indentation and low velocity impact responses of a fully backed composite sandwich plate subjected to a rigid flat-ended cylindrical indenter/impactor are analytically investigated. The analysis is nonlinear due to nonlinear strain-displacement relation. In contrast to the existed analytical models for the indentation of composite sandwich plates, the stacking sequence of ...

Investigation of Peak Particle Velocity Variations during Impact Pile Driving Process

Impact pile driving is a multi-component problem which is associated to multi-directional ground vibrations. At first, vibration is transferred from the hammer to the pile and then to the common interface of pile and soil. This is then transferred to the environment and has great impact on the adjacent structures, causing disturbance to residents and also damage to the buildings. It is of high ...
